About me

Hi everyone!!! My name is Hayley and I am a 23 year old teacher and wife who has a strong passion for nutrition and saving money! I received my Bachelor's degree in psychology and also hold a license in elementary education (just in case your wondering where the teaching came from). I also took several nutrition classes during my undergraduate years, which helped develope my interest in nutrition.

I have the best husband in the world, his name is Dan. He is also the pickiest eater in the world, so if I can get him to eat my healthy dishes it is worth trying them yourself =). Since, I am a newlywed we are also trying to find many ways to conserve and save money and I love getting great deals!!! I also love animals and can not wait to have a huge backyard one day so I can adopt a bunch! I currently have one crazy little pup named Diesel. He is a 2 year old Jackabee (jack russel and beagle mix), which I have to say is the most energetic mix in the world =P!

How did I get interested in nutrition?
Over the past few years, my passion for nutrition started to blossom. I grew up eating junk food my whole life and never really worried about what I was putting in my body because I wasn't overweight. However, I learned later on when I was a senior in college that it does matter! Whether you are super skinny or really overweight! Your body is still working 10x's harder to digest that nasty stuff out of your body, which will age you!

*Another reason*
I have no idea what risk factors are in my genetics. My mom was adopted and I don't know my biological father, so I want to take care of myself now to prevent any problems when I'm older! It is so scary how many people are developing cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and obesity at younger ages in today's world. Yes, fast food may be cheap and convenient but what is the point if you end up spending more money on doctor's visits when your older???

How I got started?
At first, I just tried to cut out fried greasy foods and cut down on sugary soda. It really helped and I lost weight from it too! However, my energy level was still down and I was always tired. So, I decided I wanted to try something different to kick up my energy. Then I heard of eating clean. I started by eating more fruits, veggies, and whole foods and quickly saw a change in my mood, skin, and energy level! I have never been so excited about food in my life! I am also super excited to share my recipes and money saving tips with everyone so you guys can feel great too!!!
